Busy (; or, by way of undirected apology)
It’s been a bit dead on the writing-stuff front recently, unfortunately. I’m blaming a lot of that on having been…really busy? I dunno, it just feels like it’s been wild. Here’s all of my weekends over the last little bit:
- February 28: A friend stayed over. Parents visited. Installed an outdoor cat enclosure thing.
- March 7: Trip out to Gilbert to go to the dog-friendly pond. Also, Indie lost a tooth a couple days later.
- March 14: Taxes.
- March 21: Prepped to go to the Netherlands.
- March 28: In the Netherlands.
- April 4: Fixed up broken yard stuff. Tried to recover from jet lag a little bit.
- April 11: Cleaned and packed and prepped to go to Toronto.
- April 18: In Toronto.
- April 25: Birthday prep; getting gifts and decor figured out. Trip to the Desert Botanical Garden.
- May 2: Birthday! Horse ride, Gilbert Riparian Preserve, meeting up with family that were in town.
- May 9: Anniversary! Trip to the Boyce Thompson Arboretum, trip to Scottsdale Community College, work party, trip to the Rio Salado Restoration project, dinner with family.
- May 16: Trip to the Gilbert Riparian Preserve, car repairs, trying to make myself catch up on cleaning that I should have already done.
That’s probably not a lot for most people, but I feel like my ideal state is frequently just having unstructured time not going anywhere or doing anything, so right now it feels like it’s added up. I’m ready (as always) to just not have places to go sometime.
I know I’m incredibly privileged to be able to travel and do all this stuff, and so much of it has been good! But also, I’m tired, and would be happy sometimes to not be leveraging all that privilege for myself, and instead be making myself do things for someone else. I just have a hard time getting myself to do that when I don’t feel in minutely in control of my own time, I guess.
Alas! Better figure out how to make myself stop frittering away all the moments in between I guess.
